But what is "boho"?

Mixing styles, color palettes that range from neutral to super colorful, and handcrafted decorative embellishments are some of the biggest features of boho style. This term was created in the 70's, in the streets of Soho, inspired by the hippie, rock, folk and even the modern romantic style.

The word boho derives from the term “bohemian”, a lifestyle characterized by freedom, carefree and strong connection with art. Gypsies, hippies or any artist who lives far from traditional standards are the biggest examples of the term.

That's why, like the bohemian lifestyle, freedom is the key word for decorating spaces in the contemporary bohemian style. As proof, we have the biggest boho chic style decoration feature: the mix of styles, such as rustic, vintage and folk with romantic furniture, ethnic prints and handmade embellishments (mostly DIY).

In fashion, boho brings with it a lighter, more laid-back lifestyle with comfort as the main ingredient, but it also expresses attitude, personality and its own style.

Layers are also striking features in the look compositions of this style, for example, a vest over a blouse, a belt over a gown or dress.

In party decorations, boho is extremely versatile and can be adapted to any type of event, regardless of where it is held. In the case of weddings, for example, Boho decor is an excellent opportunity to break with traditional decorations, usually based on a scenography of light and pastel tones, without pieces that really stand out.

Boho is a trend that is constantly updated and is always on the rise as it represents consumers' search for comfort and the resumption of manual and artisanal processes. I bet that even if you're not a fan of this lifestyle, you've certainly had a boho piece in your closet or in your place!
